Exploros™ for Remote and Face-to-Face Instruction is a Finalist in the 2020 EdTech Awards
21 May, 2020
BOSTON, MA, May 21, 2020. Exploros, the teacher-guided, social learning experience platform for K12, announced that it was chosen as a finalist for the 2020 EdTech Trendsetter Award by EdTech Digest.
This year's finalists and winners were narrowed from the larger field and judged based on various criteria, including: pedagogical workability, efficacy and results, support, clarity, value, and potential. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the EdTech Digest is the largest recognition program in all of education technology.
"We're honored to be recognized," said Bradley Heilman, CEO of Exploros. "As a platform for device-enabled classrooms, we've been impactful in helping teachers stage powerful social learning experiences that engage all students. With the surprise of COVID-19, we've been grateful to hear how Exploros has assisted our district partners in seamlessly transitioning to remote instruction while retaining both the cohesion of the social classroom and the ability for teachers to guide and oversee student progress."
Exploros currently offers curriculum bundles in Social Studies, English Language Arts, and Digital Citizenship with more courses in development. Teachers pick and choose from core curriculum playlists and guide the learning. All students have a voice, using social media skills to contribute to the classroom learning experience, whether face-to-face, remote, or a simultaneous mixture of both. Teachers see immediately what the class and each student understands, and are better prepared to personalize instruction. Exploros automatic Classroom Analytics™ help teachers and students see and attain learning targets.
The approach is simple for teachers to implement yet effective. And it is this simplicity that makes Exploros a trendsetter. In a recent case study of 19K students, 94% of campuses using Exploros improved on state testing, and the average gain was an amazing 29%. Furthermore, student populations that were economically "at risk" or "disadvantaged" had even greater gains.
"We're proud of our partner district state-testing results," explained Mr. Heilman, "but the key is student engagement. When students take ownership of the learning experience and socially engage, good things happen. The remarkable outcomes are the result of that increased student motivation."
"A very big congratulations to the finalists and winners of The EdTech Awards 2020," said Editor-in-Chief of EdTech Digest, Victor Rivero. A complete list of finalists and winners can be found here.
Exploros is a Google Cloud Partner, an Amazon EdStart Partner, and is collaborating with Lenovo™ to advance device-enabled instruction in North and South America.
